Reflection — The strongest predictor of AI success isn't technology, it's leadership commitment

September 17, 2026

Most AI projects fail not on the technology but on adoption — and the single factor that predicts it most strongly is visible leadership commitment: an owned budget, a decision cadence, clear accountability. When executives delegate the topic to an isolated committee, pilots stall; when they carry it, adoption follows. The research synthesis is clear: AI capability depends less on tools than on executive sponsorship, data governance and team adaptability.

In practice, do not hand your first AI project to an isolated technical body: chair a monthly adoption review yourself, name a business owner for each affected process, and set a measurable 90-day activation target.
