NUGGETREFLECTION
Reflection — Your best AI users aren’t better equipped, they just work more deliberately
Microsoft compared the employees who get the most out of AI with everyone else: same tools, very different results. What sets them apart isn’t access to the technology, it’s how they work. Before starting a task, they pause to decide what should go to AI and what stays with a person (53% vs. 33%), and they deliberately keep some work AI-free to keep their skills sharp (43% vs. 30%).
The lesson for leaders: handing out more licenses doesn’t create that habit; only spotting it and teaching it does. Find the two or three people who already get the most from AI, ask them to explain how they decide, task by task, what to delegate and what to keep, and turn that one-page playbook into the team’s training before you widen access.
